Hartley People are currently recruiting for a Product Manager on behalf of our client a busy manufacturing company based in Waterford.

The Person:

  • Degree in Marketing minimum requirement
  • Fluent English - both written and oral
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word / Excel / Email / Access)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
  • European and International expeirence
  • Knowledge of new product development processes
  • Results focussed
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Creative and opportunistic

  • Ability to multitask

 

The Role:

This position will drive and support the company?s strategic growth through its focus on products, positioning, promotion and pricing.

The Product Manager will work closely with the executive team, the sales force and the
engineering focus to actively develop and implement plans to grow the business.

The Product Manager will develop relationships with customers and position the company in key sectors and regions in order to gain market share.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand all commercial aspects of all the companies markets and products.
  • Collect, gather and analyse background product category information, data on competition, markets, innovations, customers? needs and trends.
  • Support and implement competitive strategies against key targets to include positioning, selling strategy, pricing, education and promotional strategy for EMEA.
  • Build trust, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
  • Play the lead role in the co-ordination and the introduction of incremental product development and new concept product launches.
  • Work closely with Engineering during this process.
  • Align pricing to ensure there is no price advantage in the same markets across different countries or regions.
  • Ensure lead times are in line with customer requirements.
  • Identify new market opportunities within target industries for existing and incremental products.
  • Interface between sales, marketing, engineering and production.
  • Provide SWOT analysis of our markets and implement actions resulting from this analysis.
  • Constantly improve marketing, products and technical skills to maximize effectiveness and efficiency in the job role assigned.
  • Cooperate to develop new strategy or approaches into the market place.
  • Build strong customer relationships.
  • Improve company brand visibility into the market place with appropriate actions and initiatives.
  • Market analysis for all new products to assess need, potential and viability.
  • Provide reports on key KPI?s and achievements.
